ABOUT ME

"Capturing these moments makes me so happy — they're like little presents I can give you that will last a lifetime."

Meet Amy

Hello, I'm Amy, the photographer behind Golden Wren Photography, a newborn and family photographer based in Brighton and Hove. I live here with my partner, our two daughters, and our two ragdoll cats, Molly and Pip. Photography has become the thread that connects everything I've done, my career, my family, and now this business.

My background is in the media industry, working as a video editor and colourist, alongside wildlife photography, roles that took me on some incredible adventures long before I began photographing families. Years spent in an edit suite trained my eye in a way that's hard to shortcut, recognising beautiful light, how a moment holds together, how colour makes a photo feel warm rather than flat. That's the eye I bring to every session, the same instinct that shaped films and wildlife shoots now shapes the way I photograph your family.

My wildlife photography and filmmaking work has been recognised nationally, too. My image "X Marks the Fox" was published in the British Wildlife Photography Awards' Collection 14 book and I've been shortlisted twice in the British Photography Awards, for a shot of a Barbary macaque at dawn on the Rock of Gibraltar and for a portrait of a seal on the Norfolk coast. My short film, Growing Up with Foxes, was runner-up at Conservation Optimism's Good Natured Film Festival, you can watch it below.

It’s also why I offer something a little different. Alongside your photos, I can transform your family’s own videos and photographs into a beautifully edited Memory Film. Professionally edited with carefully chosen music, colour grading and thoughtful storytelling, it’s a heartfelt keepsake that captures not just what happened but how it felt.

The Story Behind the Name.

The name means more to me than most people realise when they first hear it. Since having my first daughter in May 2022, she inspired me to start this business and I included a little piece of her in the name, as her middle name is Wren. Now, with two beautiful girls, the name feels even more special: my youngest daughter's name carries the meaning "golden princess," making Golden Wren a reflection of them both.
